Mexicana (XN, México City Felipe Angeles) has taken delivery of its first E195-E2 aircraft, which is also its first in-house aircraft. XA-MXA (msn 19020186) was delivered directly from São José dos Campos U.E. Stumpf International via Manaus International to México City Felipe Angeles on June 30-July 1, 2025, ADS-B data shows.

This is the first of ten E195-E2 jets ordered by the state-owned carrier. Mexicana also committed to ten E190-E2s. The airline will become the first operator of the E2-generation aircraft in the country.

The next-generation planes will allow Mexicana to run flights with its own metal for the first time. It has been wet-leasing B737-800s from Mexico’s armed air forces (Fuerza Aérea Mexicana) and E145s from TAR México since its debut as a scheduled carrier in late 2023.

Earlier in the year, the company’s general director, Leobardo Ávila Bojórquez, said that Mexicana expected to receive four E195-E2s in 2025. The phase-out of the three B737-800s currently in operation is expected to be completed by October, while the wet-leases from TAR México have already concluded, the ch-aviation Commercial Aviation Aircraft Data module shows.
