Aegean Airlines (A3, Athens) has placed a direct order for two incremental ATR72-600s from ATR - Avions de Transport Régional for its regional subsidiary Olympic Air. The deliveries of the aircraft, which will increase the carrier's fleet to fifteen units of the type, are scheduled for December 2026.

The new aircraft order is part of Aegean's fleet renewal strategy, which saw the airline replace its DHC-8-Q400s with ATR72-600s. Olympic Air currently operates thirteen units of the type, including SX-OBU (msn 1728), which was delivered in early October 2025 as the last unit from the earlier order. It also operates three ATR42-600s and two DHC-8-100s.

Apart from the new ATRs, Aegean Airlines is set to receive eighteen A321-200NX and four A321-200NX(LR)s, ch-aviation data shows. The mainline carrier does not operate any turboprops.
