Executive Fliteways (XFL, Islip) has resumed Citation-series charter operations following the addition of a Citation Sovereign, the company announced on social media.
The 13.3-year-old aircraft, N521BU (msn 680-0330), is configured for up to nine passengers and has been based at Islip, Executive Fliteways' headquarters, since September 13.
Previously, the aircraft was stationed at Westhampton Beach and was the last of five Citation Sovereigns operated under the Part 135 certificate of Sunrise Jets (Westhampton Beach), which has been phasing out the type since mid-2024.
In August, Sunrise Jets was acquired by George J. Priester Aviation along with Omni Air Transport (DRL, Tulsa International). At the time, the group told ch-aviation that all charter operations would be consolidated under the Part 135 certificate of Priester Aviation.
Beyond the Citation Sovereign, Sunrise Jets' charter fleet included a 7.2-year-old Challenger 350, N108LT (msn 20751), configured for up to 10 passengers and inducted earlier this year.
On October 24, the aircraft departed Westhampton Beach, where it was based, for West Palm Beach International, flying under Executive Fliteways' 'XFL' code. It remains unclear whether this Challenger 350 has been added to the company's charter fleet.
Executive Fliteways previously operated a Citation Excel between 2017 and 2020. As of July, the carrier's Part 135-certified fleet comprised a Learjet 60SE, a Challenger 350 added in May, a Falcon 50EX, a Falcon 7X, a Legacy 600, a Legacy 650, two Phenom 300Es, a Praetor 600, a G280, two GVs, four G550s, and two PC-12 turboprops. Since then, Executive Fliteways has added a Challenger 604 and a G450.
The company's website features two additional aircraft available for charter, namely a Hawker 800XP, flying under the 'XFL' code since September 2024, and another PC-12, while a Phenom 300E and a GV are not currently listed. Executive Fliteways also announced the induction of another Challenger 350, formerly operated privately in the United States.
