VietJetAir (VJ, Hanoi Noi Bai International) has signed a deal with Airbus for 100 A321-200Ns during Vietnamese General Secretary To Lam’s official visit to the United Kingdom, firming up a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) inked in June during the 2025 Paris Air Show.

Under the deal, signed on October 30, VietJetAir could order 50 additional jets in the future, boosting the potential order to 150 airframes.

The airline already has pending Airbus orders for seventy-six A321-200NX and twenty A321-200NY(XLR)s, plus forty A330-900N widebodies, according to ch-aviation fleet data. It currently operates an all-Airbus fleet of 97 aircraft, including twenty-five A321-200NX, eleven A321-200Ns, thirty-six A321-200s, seventeen A320-200s, and eight A330-300s.

VietJetAir also has an outstanding order from Boeing for 100 B737-8-200s and fifty B737-8s.
