flydubai (FZ, Dubai International) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Boeing to order seventy-five B737 MAX with a further 75 options.

The Emirati carrier, a sister carrier of Emirates, did not reveal the expected delivery timeline for the aircraft nor the specific variants. The agreement was signed during the Dubai Airshow just one day after flydubai committed to ordering 150 A321-200Ns from Airbus.

"We are proud to place another B737 MAX order with Boeing, a trusted partner that has played a key role in growing our network to its current scale. Reliable aircraft availability and timely deliveries are vital to the ongoing growth of our industry, and this agreement ensures we remain well-positioned for future growth, adding to the fleet as well as replacing current aircraft," chairman Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said.

The airline is currently an all-Boeing operator with a fleet of twenty-six B737-800s, sixty-seven B737-8s, and three B737-9s. It has existing orders for another 108 B737-8s, eight B737-9s, and thirty B787-9s. While the airline did not disclose what MAX variants it was planning to order, it said it was looking at "leveraging the unique size and range of the B737-8, B737-9, and B737-10 models to suit our growing network."
