Riyadh Air (RX, Riyadh) has signed a contract for 120 CFM International LEAP-1A engines to power its future fleet of sixty A321-200Ns. The new Saudi carrier ordered the aircraft in 2024, but has not shared a timeline for the deliveries. The aircraft will be equipped with the high-pressure turbine durability kit, which aims to prolong their time on wing in harsh climates such as the Middle East. Riyadh Air also has twenty-five A350-1000s with Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines and thirty-nine B787-9s with General Electric GEnx engines on order.
