Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) has lowered its 2025 delivery guidance from around 820 to 790 aircraft as a result of a recently identified metal panels problem. The quality issue, first reported exclusively by Reuters, affects a "limited number" of in-service and in-production aircraft, forcing the manufacturer to take a "conservative approach" and conduct inspections on all potentially affected aircraft. The manufacturer did not attribute the updated guidance to the November 28 emergency airworthiness directive requiring operators to conduct urgent but technically relatively simple software and/or hardware updates on around 6,000 A320 and A320neo family aircraft.
