Malawian start-up Flytech (Lilongwe International) has announced it is awaiting clearance from the Malawi Civil Aviation Authority to launch international passenger flights to Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, and Kenya.
Flytech Aviation CEO Fortunate Simeon informed ch-aviation that the airline is currently awaiting final route approval from the Malawi government for flights from Lilongwe International to Maputo, Harare International, Dar es Salaam, and Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta.
The airline's fleet now numbers six aircraft, he confirmed, the latest addition being DHC-8-Q400 7Q-DAL (msn 4242), which according to ch-aviation fleets data is being operated by Daallo Airlines (Somalia). Flytech Aviation also has bought a Piper (single piston) Piper-28-140, 7Q-FOS (msn 28-26494), for domestic charter flights, he added.
