Alaska Airlines (AS, Seattle Tacoma International) has leased a daily slot pair at London Heathrow from fellow Oneworld alliance member American Airlines to launch its first flights between Seattle Tacoma International and the UK hub during the 2026 summer season. The lease is valid from May 22 to October 24, 2026, for flights operated on 300-seat B787-9s added by Alaska Airlines after the merger with Hawaiian Airlines.
Alaska Airlines' Heathrow launch forms part of the operator's broader transatlantic expansion, with the flight to Rome Fiumicino, its European debut, also launching in 2026. The Seattle Tacoma-London Heathrow route is currently serviced daily by British Airways, Delta Air Lines, and Virgin Atlantic.
