Tour operator Join UP! Baltic has announced that it will relocate all Lithuanian charters to Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh from Vilnius to Kaunas International. The move, to come into effect on December 17, is a response to frequent operational disruptions at Vilnius airport caused by meteorological balloons released from Belarus, allegedly to smuggle goods across the closed border. "Transferring these holiday charter flights to Kaunas is a responsible and thoughtful decision that allows us to ensure the continuity of flights and provide passengers with the most stable travel planning possible during nighttime airspace restrictions in the capital," said Gintarė Norvilaitė-Tautevičė, commercial director of Lithuanian Airports. Join UP! charters capacity from sister company SkyUp MT.
