A second airport serving India's financial capital, Mumbai D. B. Patil (Navi Mumbai), opened to scheduled traffic on December 25, 2025. The first arrival was operated by IndiGo Airlines on a flight from Bengaluru International. Akasa Air, Air India Express, and Star Air (India) all debuted commercial operations from the facility on the same day.
