Hefei Airlines (Hefei) is a new joint venture carrier set-up by regional airline JoyAir (JOY, Xi'an Xianyang) in cooperation with the municipal government in Hefei. Hefei Airlines is expected to launch operations before the end of 2013 operating on regional routes likely with a fleet of Yunshuji Y-7 turboprops. 95% of JoyAir is owned by central government controlled Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) with the remaining 5% held by China Eastern Airlines (MU, Shanghai Hongqiao). It currently operates six MA-60s from Xi'an Xianyang and also has plans to establish a third base at Yinchuan.
