Air Europa (UX, Palma de Mallorca) will launch a 3x weekly service from Madrid Barajas to Johannesburg O.R. Tambo on June 24, 2026. The flights, operated with the carrier's B787-8 aircraft, will constitute its first scheduled route to sub-Saharan Africa. Air Europa's African network is currently limited to seasonal, summer-only services to Morocco and Tunisia. It does not fly to the continent on a scheduled basis in winter.
