ASKY Airlines (KP, Lomé) and TAAG Angola Airlines (DT, Luanda 4 De Fevereiro) are developing respective in-house maintenance capabilities to support their expanding fleets. ASKY plans a USD100 million MRO centre in Lomé via a joint venture with minority shareholder Ethiopian Airlines, serving West and Central Africa. Contractor bids are expected in 2027, with construction to follow. The first phase includes two hangars for narrowbodies and component repairs, later expanding to widebodies to support B787 long-haul ambitions. TAAG is establishing an MRO facility in Angola with Chinese partner Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), with the first of three prefabricated hangars entering service in June 2026.
