Liège lost its last scheduled passenger service after TUI fly (Belgium) (TB, Brussels National) concluded its operations at the airport on January 4, 2026. It will now operate exclusively as a cargo airport. Spokesman Christian Delcourt told media that the airport remains open to resuming regular passenger flights, but not before winter 2026. Passenger flights accounted for "less than 2%" of Liège's revenue.

TUI announced its decision to withdraw from its Liège base in July 2025, citing unprofitability. The airline was the airport’s only commercial flight operator, having served it since 1994.
