United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) has converted fifty-six of its B787-9 orders to B787-10s, with deliveries set to begin in 2028, The Air Current reported.

The carrier has not yet selected an engine for the incoming fleet, however, as General Electric and Rolls-Royce continue negotiating to secure a deal with the US carrier.

ch-aviation fleets data shows that United Airlines’ order now comprises eighty-four B787-9s and fifty-six B787-10s. In addition, it has outstanding orders for 102 B737-9s, 165 B737-10s, 120 A321-200NX, fifty A321-200NY(XLR)s, and forty-five A350-900s.

United Airlines already operates twelve B787-8s, forty-eight B787-9s, and twenty-one B787-10s in its widebody fleet, among other aircraft types.

As of the end of the third quarter of 2025, United Airlines projected to receive twenty B787s during 2026, with the remaining arriving in the following years.
