The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a series of NOTAMs advising US operators about “potentially hazardous situations” from military activities and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) interference over the Pacific Ocean across Mexico, Central America, and parts of South America. The warnings, issued on January 16, are valid until March 17, 2026. They cover the following Flight Information Regions: Mexico (MMFR), Mazatlan (MMFO), Central America (MHTG), Panama (MPZL), Bogota (SKED), and Guayaquil (SEFG), as well as a no-FIR area over the Pacific.
The NOTAMs follow the same pattern as previous notices issued by the FAA in the Americas, and have not impacted scheduled commercial operations in the region, nor have they been replicated by authorities elsewhere, such as the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, which only maintains a valid Conflict Zone Advisory for Venezuela and its neighbouring airspace.
