Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) has placed a firm order with Airbus for sixteen A330-900Ns and fifteen A350-900s. The contract also includes a further 20 options for either type.
The carrier said that deliveries of the new batch are scheduled to commence in 2029. The order is "within Delta’s previously announced capital expenditure and capacity targets," and the airline has already secured long-term financing for a "substantial" part of the commitment.
Delta is not a new customer for either type. It already operates thirty-nine A330-900Ns, delivered between May 2019 and September 2025, as well as forty A350-900s, which have been joining the fleet since December 2015. It has four unfilled orders for the A350-900, as well as twenty for the A350-1000. The first delivery of the larger variant is scheduled for March 2026, ch-aviation data shows.
The Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson-based carrier operates every in-production Airbus and Airbus Canada family, ranging from the A220s through to the A320neo, the A330neo, and the A350.
