Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos U.E. Stumpf International) and Adani Defence & Aerospace, part of the Adani Group conglomerate, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish an “integrated regional transport aircraft ecosystem” in India, including the development of what would be India’s first final assembly line (FAL) for commercial aircraft. The MoU also includes collaboration in supply chain, aftermarket services, and pilot training, and aligns with India's import-substituting Atmanirbhar Bharat policy.
The companies did not disclose the types of aircraft that will be manufactured at the future FAL, although Embraer CEO Arjan Meijer stated that production will begin with a single aircraft platform using existing supply chains until the collaboration matures.
