JAL - Japan Airlines (JL, Tokyo Haneda) is understood to have placed the Embraer E2 series ahead of the A220 in its evaluation of a new regional jet order covering around 20 aircraft. A final selection could be made as early as October 2026, although the carrier has yet to commit to either type. ch-aviation previously reported that JAL was seeking up to 70 aircraft for its regional fleet, comprising up to 40 regional jets and 30 turboprops. The carrier had earlier targeted a decision by first half of 2026.
