Qatar Airways (QR, Doha Hamad International) has confirmed temporary global network reductions due to planned runway maintenance at Doha Hamad International.

“As part of our regular network planning process, selected service adjustments have been coordinated in alignment with planned runway maintenance at our Doha hub. The essential upgrades are part of a long-term infrastructure program, and are scheduled for completion by early June 2026,” the airline told aviation news website Simple Flying.

Doha Hamad International will operate with a single runway between April 13 and June 13, instead of two.

According to ch-aviation capacity data, Qatar Airways is planning capacity reduction by approximately 8.2% between the first week of April and the first week of May, when the works will be in progress. In terms of specific routes, some of the carrier's largest seat reductions occur on London Heathrow, down 4,818 seats (22.2%), reducing weekly flights from 66 to 48, Colombo International, down 2,267 seats (26.5%), and Paris CDG, down 2,025 seats (19.9%), with both routes reducing frequencies from 4x to 3x daily.
