Transport Canada (TGO, Ottawa International) has issued type certificate #A-287 for the GVII-G500 and GVII-G600 on February 15, two weeks after United States President Donald Trump threatened to decertify all aircraft manufactured in Canada, particularly Bombardier Business Aircraft's Global Express-series, unless the new Gulfstream Aerospace aircraft receive Canadian certificates. The certification process began about six years ago.
Transport Canada's certification of two other Gulfstream aircraft, the G700 and the G800, began in 2024, according to the manufacturer, and remains pending completion of fuel-icing tests. Industry minister Mélanie Joly described the process as “well underway.”
