The US President Donald Trump exempted civil aircraft, their engines, and spare parts from the new 10% tariff rate applying to all imports into the country. The new rate replaces earlier, more differentiated and generally higher tariffs which were struck down by the Supreme Court. While most aircraft and parts were exempted from the previous tariffs, Embraer products were not. The current framework levels the playing field, with all OEMs, regardless of country of origin, now exempted.
