Syria's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has partially reopened the country's airspace, allowing operations to and from Aleppo in the country's north-west. An appropriate Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) went into effect on March 4 at 1550L (1250Z), requiring airlines to operate in "strict cooperation" with air traffic control. Damascus remains closed to all traffic, and transit flights over Syria are also not permitted. Despite the reopening, as of March 5, no airlines have begun operating to Aleppo.
