Emirates (EK, Dubai International) will reconfigure its high-density, two-class A380-800s as part of its ongoing A380 retrofit programme. The 15 aircraft will be reconfigured into a three-class layout, resulting in an 8% total seat count reduction, from 615 to 569. The airline will install 56 premium economy seats, while business class will increase from 58 to 76 seats. The economy class lower deck will be reduced by 120 seats, from 557 to 437. Subject to the ongoing airspace closures in the UAE, Emirates aims to induct the first reconfigured aircraft into service on April 14, 2026, on the Dubai International-Amman Queen Alia route. The carrier expects all retrofits to be complete by November 2026.
