Citilink (QG, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) will take over the Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta to Bengkulu route, currently also operated by parent carrier Garuda Indonesia (GA, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta), effective April 1, 2026, according to local media reports corroborated by ch-aviation schedules data.
Currently, each airline operates daily flights on the route. Garuda Indonesia has filed for daily B737-800 flights to Bengkulu until March 28 only. Three days later, Citilink will assume the slots vacated by its parent airline, adding a second daily all-economy A320-200 service.
Low demand and weak yields were cited as the primary motivation for Garuda Indonesia's exit. The city, also served by low-cost carriers Batik Air and Super Air Jet, is only connected by air to Jakarta.
Bengkulu governor Helmi Hasan, cited by the Antara news agency, called the scale back "a serious concern" for the province, and said the regional government would work with stakeholders to maintain Garuda's flights.
As ch-aviation previously reported, Garuda Indonesia is optimising its group network to avoid cannibalisation with Citilink. According to ch-aviation data, the two carriers overlapped on over 35 routes as of December 2025.
