Solomons - Solomon Airlines (IE, Honiara) will deploy its A320-200 on domestic flights between Honiara and Munda beginning April 13, 2026, to cover for the sole DHC-8-100, H4-SOL (msn 289), which will begin scheduled C-check maintenance starting April 11.
The airline will operate its core domestic schedule using two DHC-6-300s, but will temporarily suspend services to Arona and Lomlom.
According to ch-aviation data, the 34.7-year-old DHC-8-100 is configured with 37 seats in an all-economy configuration. It has been operating for the Solomonese carrier since 2012.
H4-SOL previously experienced mechanical issues in September 2025, which temporarily limited its operations solely to Munda. An executive told the Solomon Star newspaper at the time that the aircraft was awaiting a replacement part.
