Ethiopian Airlines (ET, Addis Ababa International) has partnered with its Togolese subsidiary ASKY Airlines to establish a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) centre in West Africa, advancing its Vision 2040 strategy to expand beyond core airline operations. This follows a positive feasibility study that confirmed the need for a West African technical hub, group CEO Mesfin Tasew told a news briefing at the recent inaugural African MRO Conference in Addis Ababa. The facility is the first of several planned MRO hubs to strengthen Africa’s aviation self-reliance.
