South Korean police are investigating politician Kim Byung-ki over 13 corruption allegations, including hospitality gifts involving Korean Air (KE, Seoul Incheon). The case includes alleged complimentary stays at the airline's Jeju hotel valued at KRW1.6 million won (USD1,000) and alleged flight-related privileges for family members travelling to Viet Nam. Investigators are examining whether the benefits were provided in exchange for political influence.

Asked to comment, Korean Air told ch-aviation: "We regret the occurrence of this incident. We will strengthen our internal management standards and will take all necessary measures to prevent a recurrence."
