Virgin Australia (VA, Brisbane International) has announced that it will resume flights between both Sydney Kingsford Smith and Melbourne Airport and Doha Hamad International from June 15, 2026. Services from Perth International and Brisbane International to/from Doha remain suspended until at least September 15.

The flights were initially disrupted by the closure of Qatari airspace on February 28. Virgin Australia’s four Doha routes are operated by Qatar Airways as part of a commercial partnership that includes the wet lease of two B777-300ERs.
