The Pakistani government has approved PKR4.4 billion rupees (USD15.8 million) for PIA - Pakistan International Airlines (PK, Islamabad International) retiree medical and pension bills, plus salary disbursements, as part of liability settlement funding for PIA HoldCo. The government also approved PKR455 million (USD1.6 million) for salary payments at Precision Engineering Complex, which was separated from Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited and transferred to the Ministry of Defence. The allocation follows the sale of a 75% stake in PIA for PKR135 billion (USD484 million) to a consortium led by Arif Habib Group.
