Alliance Air (India) (9I, Delhi International) resumed a 6x weekly service between Delhi International and Shimla on May 10, 2026, following a seven-month hiatus. The airline also restarted a Shimla-Dharamsala rotation a day later, flying 5x weekly. Flights are operated aboard the carrier's ATR42-600 fleet.

The resumption follows a Himachal Pradesh High Court inquiry into the Union government regarding the exclusion of Shimla from the regional air connectivity scheme (UDAN). Operations were previously suspended due to technical and infrastructural constraints. Alliance Air is the only operator at Shimla airport.
