According to GTLK - State Transport Leasing CEO Mikhail Parnev, Aurora (HZ, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk) is losing interest in the LMS-901 Baikal turboprop due to repeated production delays and high costs. Aurora ordered 105 LMS-901s in October 2023 with first deliveries initially slated for 2026. They have been postponed until at least 2027. Parnev stated that the Far Eastern airline is currently exploring twin-engine alternatives instead.

The LMS-901 Baikal is a single-engine utility turboprop manufactured by UZGA (Russian Federation), designed as a successor to the Soviet-era An-2. In May 2025, the programme was suspended due to development issues, and it remains uncertified.
