Fly Alliance (KPO, Wilmington New Castle) has secured a San Marino air operator's certificate (AOC) for its new unit Fly Alliance (San Marino) with a Global Express.
The certification, issued by the San Marino Civil Aviation Authority in May, was initially targeted for the first quarter of 2026. Fly Alliance chief executive Kevin Wargo later told ch-aviation the company expected the AOC to be secured on May 1.
Fly Alliance San Marino's certification was obtained with a 1999-built Global Express, registered in San Marino in May as T7-FLYA (msn 9032). Configured for up to 12 passengers, the jet became active on May 12, with a circuit around Orlando Executive before completing a roundtrip to Charleston International later that day.
This ultra-long-range jet was added to Fly Alliance's fleet in late 2022 as N98WG, operating until May 2026. The company's Part 135 certificate continues to include two additional Global Express aircraft, alongside 23 other Dassault Aviation, Gulfstream Aerospace, and Textron Aviation jets.
Beyond the Part 135 certificate and the newly secured San Marino AOC, Fly Alliance plans to launch operations in India under a new local brand in the fourth quarter of 2027. The Indian operation will focus on Legacy 600, Legacy 650, and Global Express aircraft. “The reason behind the non-scheduled operator's permit (NSOP) in India is servicing our clients who fly domestically within the country in addition to international trips,” Wargo said.
