Boeing Shanghai, a joint venture of the Shanghai Airport Authorities, Boeing, and China Eastern Airlines, has expanded its capacity with the addition of a new 48,000-square-metre hangar. The hangar can host up to six aircraft at once, including up to four widebodies and two narrowbodies.

Operations started on April 28 with the arrival of a B737, a press release said. The facility performs B787, B777, B767, and B737NG maintenance and has long-term base maintenance contracts with Air Premia (YP, Seoul Incheon) and Virgin Atlantic (VS, London Heathrow) for their respective B787-9s.
