MJets Air (WW, Kuala Lumpur International) began wet leasing a B737-800(SF) from Ascend Airways Malaysia (AU, Kuala Lumpur International), according to ADS-B flight tracking data. The Boeing freighter, registered 9M-ASC (msn 33813), started flying under MJet Air's "KXP" code on June 18, 2026.
9M-ASC is currently based at Kuching airport, operating cargo runs to Ho Chi Minh City, Yangon, Kuala Lumpur International, Mumbai International, and other airports.
According to ch-aviation, the 21.6-year-old aircraft is powered by CFM International CFM56 engines. It was delivered to Ascend Airways Malaysia in September 2025, becoming the carrier's first aircraft. The airline used it as part of its certification campaign.
Ascend Airways Malaysia is part of Avia Solutions Group and a sister carrier to the now-defunct UK-based Ascend Airways (YD, London Gatwick), which surrendered its air operator's certificate in April 2026.
ch-aviation has contacted Ascend Airways Malaysia and MJets Air for comment, but neither carrier had responded by the time of publication.
