Mokulele Airlines (MHO, Kona) began demonstration flights using cargo variants of Beta Technologies' all-electric conventional take-off and landing (CTOL) ALIA aircraft. The trial, set to be held “over the next several weeks,” includes routes from Honolulu to Kaunakakai and Lanai City, with plans to expand testing to Kahului and Kona in the future. While not an official partner, Hawaiian Airlines is reportedly providing guidance and logistical support. Mokuele Airlines’ parent company, Surf Air Mobility, ordered 25 ALIA aircraft in March 2026, with options for 75 additional units. BETA Technologies aims to have the aircraft certified over the next year.
