airBaltic (BT, Riga) is planning to ask its bondholders to provide short-term funding at an August 3, 2026, meeting. "In order to ensure that the group has a stable platform while [a review of the capital structure] is undertaken, the issuer intends to seek interim financing to ensure it has sufficient liquidity going forward," the airline said in a notice to bondholders. airBaltic is currently working on a new business plan, and Latvia's new government reckons the airline will need as much as EUR150 million euros (USD172 million) in fresh capital just to survive the upcoming Winter 2026/27 season.
