Widerøe (WF, Bodø) will extend the lifespan of four additional DHC-8-100s by adding them to De Havilland Aircraft of Canada’s Extended Service Program PLUS (ESP+). The airline was De Havilland’s launch customer for the programme in 2022, when it opted to enroll 10 aircraft in ESP+, with options for an additional 10. The latest announcement brings the total number of aircraft under ESP+ to 14.

ESP+ extends a DHC-8-100’s lifespan from 120,000 to 160,000 flight cycles. Widerøe’s DHC-8-100 fleet comprises 19 aircraft, part of a total fleet of 51 aircraft. The airline is part of Norwegian Group.
