Thai AirAsia (FD, Bangkok Don Mueang) has temporarily closed its Bangkok Suvarnabhumi base, suspending Chiang Mai and Phuket services from July 15 through September 30, 2026, according to ch-aviation data. Operations are scheduled to resume on October 1, 2026. The airline has also cancelled Suvarnabhumi routes to Buri Ram, Chiang Rai, Hat Yai, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Surat Thani, and Udon Thani. It had reduced overall seat capacity by 30% during May and June, citing sharply higher fuel costs and softer demand.
