Rano Air (R4, Kano) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Jigawa State in northern Nigeria to launch scheduled commercial flights between Dutse and Abuja after the state's executive council approved the new service. Dutse currently sees no scheduled flights. The airline is expected to begin operations immediately, with the state saying the route will improve connectivity for investors, businesses, development partners, and residents while boosting commerce, tourism, and the economic role of Dutse International Airport. Rano Air's fleet comprises five E145s, of which three are currently in service, and it covers seven domestic destinations: Abuja, Lagos, Kano, Sokoto, Bauchi, Kaduna, and Warri.
