Etihad Airways (EY, Abu Dhabi International) has acquired the three slot pairs its Indian codeshare partner Jet Airways (Mumbai International) holds at London Heathrow for $70 million USD and will lease the slots back to Jet Airways for the time being. Jet Airways currently serves Heathrow daily from Delhi International and twice daily from Mumbai with its fleet of B777-300ERs. Etihad currently serves London Heathrow three times daily from Abu Dhabi itself with a mix of A340-600 and B777-300(ER) aircraft.
