TAROM (RO, Bucharest Henri Coanda) has taken delivery of its first B737-8, the company confirmed in a statement, with the aircraft due to reach Bucharest Henri Coanda on the evening of September 8, 2026.
The brand-new YR-BGO (msn 60196) was first moved under a Boeing flight code from Renton to Seattle Boeing Field on August 19. TAROM took formal delivery in Seattle and the aircraft was then ferried from the United States west coast to Reykjavik Keflavik on September 7 and continued onwards to Bucharest the following day, ch-aviation research shows.
The fleet update comes as the company’s new management revises its restructuring plan due to ongoing financial difficulties.
Besides the latest addition, TAROM’s fleet comprises two ATR72-500s, four ATR72-600s, three B737-700s and four B737-800s. It has another eight B737-8s on order.
Its second B737-8, YR-BGN (msn 66425) is set to enter the fleet in days.
