Somali domestic carrier Starsky Airlines (Mogadishu) has announced its intention to expand to international destinations, with Kenya tipped to be the logical first destination, according to Kenyan news platform TUKO.
"As part of its next chapter of growth, Starsky Aviation is expanding beyond its strong domestic network toward international routes, strengthening Somalia’s air connectivity with regional and global destinations," the company announced on social media while attending the recent Aviation Week Africa 2026 in Nairobi.
It did not disclose details of its planned routes and fleet, except to say that it was attending Aviation Africa 2026 with the aim of "building international partnerships, expanding operational capabilities, embracing new opportunities, and positioning Starsky Aviation as a stronger regional and international carrier while proudly promoting Somali aviation on the global stage."
According to ch-aviation data, the airline's fleet currently comprises one 35.3-year-old 50-seater F50, 7Q-SMO (msn 20223), and one EMB-120RT(F), 7Q-YES (msn 120110), wet leased from Malawi's Flytech, although the aircraft could not be tracked on ADS-B data.

On February 10, 2036, Starsky Airlines' only other aircraft, F50 60-YAS (msn 20177), overran the runway on landing at Mogadishu, coming to rest in shallow seawater with a broken wing. All 55 people on board survived.
