Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) resumed flights to Siirt in southeastern Türkiye on September 12, 2026, almost 11 months after the airport closed for major construction and renovation works on October 20, 2025. The reopening was eight months later than originally intended, as the airport had been scheduled to reopen on January 18, 2026, but the renovation programme and associated testing, inspection, and calibration work took longer than planned. Construction comprised a new terminal, upgrades to the control tower and technical facilities, perimeter-security improvements, and testing of electronic and navigation systems.
Turkish Airlines serves Siirt from Istanbul Airport and from Ankara Esenboga, the latter operated under a wet lease for subsidiary AJet (Türkiye), using A319-100s on both routes, according to ADS-B data.
