Cabo Verde Airlines (VR, Sal Amilcar Cabral International) has rejoined IATA's Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP), restoring accredited travel agencies' ability to issue tickets on the carrier through GDS systems using its ticket stock, the airline said in a statement.
The return strengthens the carrier's distribution network and access to international travel agencies as it seeks to expand distribution and partnerships in key international markets, the airline added.
IATA suspended the airline from BSP in April 2020, preventing IATA-accredited travel agents and other airlines from processing ticket sales and refunds through the system. During the suspension, the airline was restricted to direct ticket sales.
The suspension followed reported outstanding BSP obligations of USD2.4 million, according to reports at the time.
