Alaska Airlines (AS, Seattle Tacoma International) expects Boeing to secure certification for the B737-10 by the end of September, with first delivery planned for spring 2027. Alaska expects to begin passenger services with the type in April to mid-May, subject to completing its own certification work. Out of a total order of 163 B737-10s, it anticipates taking twenty-two B737-10s in 2027 and thirty in 2028. According to ch-aviation data, it also has five more B737-8s on order and already operates twenty of the type, and it operates eighty B737-9s.

Boeing has confirmed that B737-10 certification is expected "very soon", referring ch-aviation to CEO Kelly Ortberg's comments at the Morgan Stanley Laguna Conference earlier this month. Ortberg said all flight and other testing had been completed, with only three deliverables remaining for the FAA and the programme now in the documentation phase. He added that EASA had recently flown the B737-10 and was "very complimentary". ch-aviation has also asked Alaska Airlines for comment.
