Malaysia Aviation Group, parent of Malaysia Airlines (MH, Kuala Lumpur International), has signed a sale and purchase agreement with Airbus to acquire its wholly-owned Sepang Aircraft Engineering maintenance subsidiary. The transaction is subject to customary conditions, including approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia, with completion targeted for 2027. MAG said SAE will complement its MAB Engineering unit with A320 maintenance expertise, a dedicated paint hangar, and specialised component repair capabilities, while expanding third-party maintenance revenue. The financials of the deal were not disclosed.
