The Tourism Association of Sarajevo Canton has invited airlines to apply by November 12, 2026, for subsidies supporting services at Sarajevo in 2027, including incentives for establishing a base. The deadline was moved from November 7. Carriers establishing a base could receive EUR75,000 euros (USD84,000) in fixed monthly support and EUR4 (USD4.50) per arriving passenger. The programme also supports new and strategic routes, existing new or strategic routes with five or fewer weekly frequencies, and flights exceeding six hours. Aircraft must seat at least 100 passengers, with services operating for at least eight consecutive weeks. Sarajevo Canton previously earmarked USD280,000 for route subsidies in 2023, as ch-aviation previously reported.
