ITA Airways (AZ, Rome Fiumicino) and Archer Aviation (Palo Alto) have signed an agreement to partner on an all-electric air taxi network across Italy's major cities, using the latter's Midnight eVTOL aircraft for "rapid back-to-back" flights between destinations currently serviced by road. While potential routes were not disclosed, Archer stated that a flight from Rome Fiumicino to Rome's city centre could take less than ten minutes with the Midnight. ITA Airways CEO Joerg Eberhart said that the agreement "represents an important step in assessing how electric air taxi services could complement our network and enhance connections between airports, city centres, and other strategic destinations."
